This is where I like to share some of my favorite recipes and baking adventures with you. Failures and successes!
Healthy food has been a passion of mine for a long time. I love to bake nutritious snacks for my family, but also love to create sweet treats for all of our guilty pleasures.
Raising three active and athletic boys, with my amazing husband, makes our lives pretty much always on the go. I find cooking and baking allows me to slow down a bit, while filling my desire to be creative and artistic. Not to mention nourish them at the same time.
When my second son was around 9 months old, we discovered that he had a severe intolerance to eggs and poultry. I had to reinvent my cooking and baking styles to create meals that were not only healthy for him, but that the whole family could eat together. This, in turn started a new passion for healthy meals and sweet treats he could enjoy with us. Some recipes were amazing, but more often than not, the baking fell short of what we had grown to love as kids. Simple traditional sweets like muffins, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, all had to be egg free. This created a bit of a challenge at first but nothing that couldn’t be figured out with a lot of trial and error, and time. Thankfully, 10 years later, he has grown out of some of these intolerances; but it definitely has shaped me into a healthier home cook and baker.
I truly love to cook and bake and I hope you will enjoy some of these recipes as much as my family does.
